BUFFY NIGHT - by Aribela Evans

Sea Witch by Sarah Henning

Aribela has given the book 4 and a half stars so that surely means that it is worth a look. The sea witch is a great replay of the famous sea witch Ursula’s story. The book explains how Ursula turned to the dark side that we see in the little mermaid. The main character is Evie whom turns into Ursula. Ever since Evie’s best friend Anna drowned, Evie had been an outcast hiding her magical talents. Four years after Anna drowned someone with an uncanny resemblance of anna shows up claiming not to be her. Deep down, Evie knows that is false. Now Evie will do anything to save her, not knowing the cost. I highly recommend this book. I think that it is a wonderfully adventurous book with very touchy feelings. It took me through a roller coaster of emotions but it was worth it.

I am very thankful for Ari giving me a review on her latest read. I watched her sit back and devour this book in a couple of days and she was certainly hooked.

Hi Guys this is episode 10 of the show. My name is Dianna and I can now say that I am a 5 time Nanowrimo Champion. I finished my story 2 days early which is a first for me, I am normally scrambling on the last day to meet an industrious amount of words.

When I started this podcast I really had no idea what I was in for and I am still learning more every episode. I knew I wanted it about world building and mindfulness. I knew that I wanted to alternate solo shows with interview shows and I had a rough plan for the first dozen episodes. But I have had to allow that plan to evolve and grow with the show. I have stuck to the core ideas but I have started planning for next year and want to share what I’m learning along the way. I have already recorded my interviews for episode 11 and 13. One on worldbuilding and one on mindfulness and goal setting for the end of the year. I know that goal setting should be something that people look at all year round, but there is a buzz in the air for setting resolutions around the new year.

Before we get on with the show today I wanted to say a huge Thank you to all the people that have joined the search for Elara on the finding Elara Facebook community, all of the guests that have been on the show are in the group so if you would like to talk to them or me a little more check it out. There are some questions when you ask to join, but if you are listening to this, then you are all set. I am fairly certain the first question is how did you hear about finding Elara. The community is slowly growing and I really want people to share their thoughts on worldbuiding and mindfulness in there. I am planning on setting regular themes and topics, but like the pinned post, I haven’t gotten around to it yet. One step at a time.

I have finished adding the transcripts to the previous show notes and formatting them so that they are easy to read. I have a summary section and then highlights and notes followed by the transcript. I saw on youtube an aussie guy who suggested using the voice recognition on your phone while playing the audio and it will write it all down for me. So thanks legendary youtuber. It made things so much easier for me. I have every intention from now on to stay up to date and this won’t be an issue in the future… hopefully.

I have another thank you for the show I had another lovely listener buy me a cuppa on Ko-fi. It was such a lovely surprise. He actually bought 2 cuppas for me, so that was really awesome and inspiring for me to continue plodding along with the show. I really do believe that good things come to those who put effort and persistence into what they desire. If you would like to show your support also then the site you go to is ko-fi that is K O dash F I dot com slash findingelara.  You don’t have to sing up to a monthly contribution or anything like that, it is just a one off donation of 3 dollars which supports my tea drinking habit. I get a little grumpy when there is too much blood in my tea stream so than you Garry, you have saved the world from seeing a tealess Dianna monster.

On the Ko-fi site I have set a goal to purchase some new podcasting gear so I am going to save all my cuppas until I reach that goal. I have had this laptop for around 6 years I think and it is still pretty amazing but I think I want to upgrade and hand this one down to one of the kids. I also want to buy a shock mount and pop filter for my microphone, a portable dictation device that a little more reliable than my phone which I always forget to charge. So I will save up for these things and let you know when I use my cuppa money for it.

My day job is bus driving. Which is actually really cool. I work during the school term I only do 20 hours a week and have school hours free to work on this podcast and my writing. There are a few ongoing cost for putting on a show like this too, I use an aggregate called libsyn. So what that means is that I load it up to libsyn and then libsyn sends it out to apple podcasts, stitcher and all the other places that you find my show. So Libsyn has a monthly fee, then there is my cost for the website through Wix and my email address which I pay annually. So I aim to have all those costs covered instead of paying it with my bus money.

I have looked into advertising and affiliate links to monetize which may be one of the directions I choose to go in the new year but for the moment I am happy with the show the way it is.

As you know all the links will be on the show notes and a full transcript can be found at dlnix.com/finding-elara and this is episode 10.

But I kept on track fairly well this year, until last weekend where I fell off the wagon and didn’t write for 4 days in a row. I will tell you more about that in the main part of the show.

Buffy Night

The only night of the week that I have access to the big tv in the lounge.

Now as you may know I have three little kick arse kids. This week my son, who is the oldest, made some double choc chip cookies. They were so good and my treat for this weeks buffy night. He loves to cook.

My middle one is a voracious reader. Seriously it takes her about three days to read a book and there is always another one that catches her eye. So, I thought that I would ask her for some reviews of what she has been reading and she has delivered. Her most recent book is the Sea Witch by Sarah Henning. She has given the book 4 and a half stars so that surely means that it is worth a look.

Hello and welcome to the finding Alara podcast building walls with show my name is Dianna and I can say that I am now a five times nanowrimo champion I finished my Story 2 days early which for me is actually pretty epic I'm normally scrambling on the last day with an industrial and words that I have to complete think last year was like 12000 words that I had to do in the last 3 days this year I'm done early which is awesome I'm going to tell you a little bit more about that in the main part of the show but before we get started I wanted to talk to you about some other things when I started this podcast I really had no idea what it was in for and I'm still learning with every episode that I do it's a steep learning curve but I feel like it's going to start before I knew it I knew I want you to podcast about well building and I wanted the podcast for you also about mindfulness sometimes I was hoping they sort of join up I knew that I wanted to alternate shows with just me talking and have intern interview shows for the other one's Ida Rodd plan for the first does episodes but I had to allow that plan to evolve and grow with the show I had stuff with a core idea of the show though so what our plan for next year maybe a little bit different I'm definitely going to be sharing everything alone along the way and keeping you in the loop I have already recorded the interviews 4 episode 11 and 13 one of them's about World Builder on one of them is about mindfulness I'm sticking to that thing the one I actually recorded about mindfulness is to do with goal setting I know the goal setting is something should probably do all year round but this episode comes out the 3rd week in December and people tend to have some buzz buzz around and about goal setting at that time of year cuz they're thinking about New Years resolutions so hopefully I'll be able to give you some help with goal setting in that episode which I'm really looking forward to before we get onto the show today I wanted to say a huge thank you to all the people that are join the search pallara in the finding Lara Facebook community all of the gas that have been on the show so far are in the group so if you want to talk to them or you want to talk to me go and check it out it's on Facebook it's called Bunning Allara Cleveland aren't there are some questions when you asked to join but if you're listening to the show then you're all set I'm fairly certain the first question is how did you hear about Alara so obviously you heard about it by listening to podcast and thank you for listening I'm hoping that as time goes on I want to grow the community I want people to share their for some well building in mindfulness and continue to have the people that I'm interviewing join the group and share their thoughts and feelings as well so we'll see how that goes I'm sure that will talk about it in episodes and stuff just like the pin post one of the questions is make sure you read the pinned post I haven't actually gotten around to writing the pin pochette one time I had actually finished adding the transcripts to the previous show notes which is awesome I am formatting them so they all rather similar there's a section where the summary of the show the highlights and then the actual transcripted self I did watch YouTube to figure out the best way to transcribe because I tried downloading a few apps and they were just a little bit confusing and I didn't really want to pay anyone at the moment because the show isn't financial as yet I've only just started on YouTube he said that because episode about how to transcribe the easy way and he used voice recognition from his phone and from Google Docs I tried Google Docs and it didn't really work as well as the recognition on my phone so I simply play the episode on my computer had my phone next week recording with voice recording and it works really well one of my lovely listeners has bought me a cuppa from Kofi and I was so surprised it was awesome he actually bought me true colours which is above and beyond to say that was just amazing for me to continue potting along with the show I really want to find a way of making it financial and I think the cofee idea is a really good start I really do believe the good things will come to those who put in effort and persist if you would like to show your support for the show then the site you need to go to is ko-fi.com so it's KO dash FI.com slash honey you don't have to sign up to a monthly contribution or anything like that it's just a one of donation of $3 which supports my tea drinking habit I thank you so much save the world from seeing Dianna new podcasting Ghia I'm going to save up all my cup is until I reach my goal I have had this laptop that I'm using now for around 6 years and I still think it's pretty amazing but I do want to upgrade probably I also want to buy pop filter for microphone and then I can give rabbits mr guessing you podcast indian i'm going to save up all my heart is until i reach my goal i haven't seen that took some using now for around 6 years i still think of pretty amazing but i do want to upgrade in probably have this one dance one of the kids i also want to buy a shirt mountain top fuelled up my microphone and then i can give joel that his rabbit fluffy thing i haven't talked in the microphone now which i'm sure you've been pretty happy about i also want to get a portable dictation debono probably forget charge my phone so when something to be a little bit more reliable and those of us use internet directly to the computer so that will be really cool i have a day job i am at school bus driver motion really follow you were doing school term i do 20 hours a week and have almost gorillas free eyedrops come home getting my office and i'll get to work for the day there are a few ongoing costs with producing up old town club is there is and i forgot that i use called lipton so what that means is that i recall and producer show addison as the music in all that jealous and then i send it through to listen and listen send it out to the world so that how gets to apple podcast and stitch road all the other places do you find the show listen has a month amity then there's a customer website my email address which i came and your weekend i hope that in the future albeit find away all having the show pay for itself so i don't have to use it is because i haven't in advertising and if you live links avenue times but i'm not sure which direction i want to go with that so we just have to see in the new year how i want to make the happen if only has no idea still free to send them through to me on my email diana at the ellen etsy.com and as you know all of the show note and link will be on the website that is deal live.com slash finding dash talara and then nancy episode list and this is episode 10 is amazing i'm in double digit you know the lady mum interview for the show she likes a coffee with three sugars and she wrote the book named Justice so that was really cool he listens to it at least obviously my daughter's don't you go so I went and I missed your chat and I went away for a family Christmas really else to say so we will sorry I want to show and maybe online Excel Osho I'll be able to share how that goes but I thought I just talked about my nanos I can now say that I'm a 5 time Nano winner which is fantastic I can surely will this year until last weekend on Saturday I did some writing and then I can write for 4 days I just fell off the wagon I didn't get any words done so I smashed it out his last couple of days just had my nana finished and I'm really glad that I did because once you finished or easily and it is awesome I decided to do a story on well I started not knowing it all what I was going to do but the way it worked out was it's a story about shadow dragons are you saying the distance of Shadow Dragon on my computer and I will revisit it when I have time after my Christmas stories out or probably next year sometime I thought maybe you want to hear about mother and maybe you guys can give me some ideas of what you think I should be working on completing the wild Bridge she goes to crossing walgreens in chicopee maryland and the stories about her other sister his lesson real world trying to find a stolen little bit over , don't want to start writing that one so there's no 2617 points with you and the story of actually edited around about 7 times and i never giving up on it so it is in my drawer on a river city in the future but who knows my mexican danno win in 2013 was cool normal mess now that was the one i told you about a couple weeks ago that i really wanted to have a romance story i thought you might have been a romantic right now and i can give prolific rider i don't know why i have that thought coming to my head but that's just what i was thinking at the time when i've got no no and it ended up turning into 100 mystery i thought maybe i can make that murder mystery with series if i finish the normal netbook and then i vote to subsequent novel that are also sitting in my chair also i have those old never seen them which i think i might revisit but i think when you write cry more murder mystery anything like that you have to have a long text or ring after make sure that you don't give away too much so that it has listen to freeze i don't think what am i doing I'm sorry wasn't actually a murder mystery so maybe I am stepping closer to my room and of course there is the one I wrote this year so I started with a woman and she was having nightmares about her was let into a body and she starts to transform so the whole story is about her finding out what she can turn into what's going to happen to her when she turns into it and and I can see it so I'm a story was also transformation story so it's about a girl whose sister was taken away fairies seen on here and it's a girl and she's trying to get her back my actually plan on body through and release index mate that's my girl so I had said it allowed now to all of my listeners we will see how we go so that's my 50 stories but I've completed my Tandoori I do know I thought to myself that I wanted to say that was my goal so I gave myself 6 weeks to write 72000 words towards new story it was in a movie I'm thinking maybe in the New Year in the new year I may contact her and say hey how's it going in 3 months or just putting it out then I really had a lot of time to read lately I've been so busy with my Nana Dory and with keeping up today with my Christmas story and making this podcast that I just really have to have a lot of time to sit down and just read you may know this but I have three kids and pretty awesome kids not that I'm biased or anything I have a son who's 14 and he is pretty awesome he makes sweets cakes cookies and stuff like that all the time so for Buffy night it's the one night in a week where I treat myself to a dessert and on allowed to have a big 75 inch tally in the lounge room without anyone complaining it's a rule no one is allowed to complain so I get the remote and I chill out with a couple of friends and I watch TV shows so this week my son made some cookies to have with ice cream for my to third and I asked my daughter the middle child if she be interested in actually giving a review for the show she didn't want to be talking on the microphone because she thinks for her voice is really high pitched you know she's 12 little self-conscious about that sort of thing because she is a voracious reader she reads 203 books a week which is much more than I have time to read at the moment I asked her if she be able to keep your review and she think yes or her most recent book that she's finished called see which by Sarah Hani so the story is called see which see which is a great replay of a famous see which Ursula story so this is before The Little Mermaid explain how a slab turn to the dark side but we see in the mermaid movie the main character is Evie home turns into a party and Evans best friend has been an outcast hiding her good night and of course the music be here in the show is from bensound.com not an affiliate Lee Dad it's a good music if you ever new kid free music online I am going to have to follow up with my friend who was going to make some music for show and see what's happening with that now I know that you are all highly anticipating results from the competition I was running last week the competition it was to do with my interview with Pauline while she has generously offered one listener a copy of her books saving Saffron sweating she read an excess of the book on the show this week and it sounds epic I have I did buy for me but I said I'm going to make the time to so we had quadruple DNS entries we had in the last competition which is fantastic I'm really stoked there we had so many people look into it ok so my work so I've gone back to the antiquated right all the name down and out of the hat all of my name's not here and I'm shuffling my awesome I will make sure they're pulling get all your details and you will get a copy of saving Saffron sweetie I hope that you will share with us what you thought about it when you're done reading it Stephanie next week I'm going to have an interview I'm going to share an interview that I had with Kerry chalak Kerry jelly is a fantasy author this is one of my world will be episodes ok now her by Kerry published author accomplice runner and yellow Crafter I have short stories into anthologies and have a handful of other projects in the work most notably and Eddie and see which I have trance and very stages for the first three book I love to learn and complete surprise myself with what I need to learn in order to keep up with my own vault sorry that I actually and it was really good to catch up with her in person or online
